Data on graduate retention over time
Retaining graduates is a challenge that many regions face, including the North East. The analysis below includes comparisons with other core city LEP areas to put the North East data into context. In order to understand where graduates are currently residing, graduates are surveyed 1, 3 and 5 years after graduation. Looking at the data:
As depicted in the second graph below, the North East has 46% of its graduates staying in the region one year after completing their studies. This remains fairly stable across three and five years, with 45% of graduates residing in the North East five years after graduating.
