The Department for Transport record Passenger journeys on local bus services per head. The graph compares bus use per capita in NECA with standard regions.
The North East has traditionally had a higher level of bus use per head of population than other parts of England, excluding London. In London, there were 254.9 passenger journeys per head during 2016/17. This boosts the England figure to 80.3.
