Proportion of working residents receiving job-related training
The Annual Population Survey includes questions about whether a respondent had received job-related training in the previous 4 weeks or in the previous 13 weeks. In the twelve-month period Oct 2019-Sep 2020 (the latest available data):
Because of different rates of employment it is useful to focus on the percentages of working people who had received job-related training. In Oct 2019-Sep 2020:
Within North East local authorities, the percentage of workers aged 16 to 64 receiving job-related training was highest in County Durham and lowest in Gateshead. Among constituencies, the percentage was highest in Bishop Auckland and lowest in Jarrow (using the four-week measure) and Gateshead (using the 13 week measure). These statistics are based on location of residence rather than workplace and cover a twelve-month period, almost half of which was before the economy was affected by Covid-19.
